SUMAILLA – Japanese Peruvian Cuisine in Port Andratx
Sumailla restaurant, founded by Toni Vera, fuses Japanese and Peruvian gastronomy offering the highest standards while maintaining its originality. Chef Mauricio Farinola combines his passion for cooking with his Argentinean roots to add his personal touch to the gastronomic offer. His parents are of Spanish and Italian origin, and his passion for food allows him to understand the importance of quality and the value of cuisine.
Mauricio began his career in the kitchen at the Instituto Argentino de Gastronomía and at Gato Dumas, where Iwao Komiyama, the famous expert in Japanese cuisine, gave him intense training. After working in several sushi restaurants in Buenos Aires, he embarked on a trip to Spain, where he fell in love with Mallorca, and has since been rated as one of the best sushi chefs on the island.
The restaurant is bathed in natural light and the interior, designed by architect Jaime García Ruiz, stands out for its minimalism. The décor blends into the landscape to make the most of its location in one of the most privileged coves in Mallorca and possibly the Mediterranean. You can eat outdoors on the terrace, located right on the edge of the sea, and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the island as the sun sets behind the mountains of Andratx. If you like to enjoy a glass of wine while you eat, Sumailla’s selection is sure to please, as it includes some of the best Mallorcan, Spanish and international wines. Inside the establishment you will also find a bar offering an extensive selection of cocktails as well as the best international champagnes.
In Sumailla we try to “take care of the details to the maximum, to contribute originality, to offer the best quality and to create unforgettable flavors and sensations”. And we’re successful, according to the loyalty shown by our clientele.
