Astoria Wines becomes the official supplier of La Vuelta a España 2021
After several years as a sponsor of the Giro d’Italia, the prestigious Italian wine brand Astoria Wines has made the leap to Spain to support and provide one of its wines for the 76th edition of La Vuelta Ciclista a España 2021, which kicked off on 14 August 2021 in Burgos and will end on Sunday, 5 September 2021 in Santiago de Compostela.
As a celebration wouldn’t be a celebration without a good wine, Astoria Wines will supply the event with its Jeroboam Prosecco DOC, a white, fruity and exquisitely bottled Prosecco, ideal for celebrating, in style, the end of each stage with the winners on the podium. Prosecco is the most widely consumed wine in the world and Astoria Wines’ catalogue includes several multiaward winners which continue to shine year after year.
La Vuelta, in terms of worldwide coverage, is the third most important race behind Le Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. With this collaboration, Astoria Wines wants to show its commitment to this elite sport, providing its wine, on each of the 21 stages that make up La Vuelta, for the podium celebrations which this year will cover a total distance of 3,417.7 km. Every day a little piece of Italy will accompany the champions, who will have the pleasure of uncorking and toasting with Astoria sparkling wine.
In this way, the Italian brand further strengthens its ties with Spain, where it arrived in 2015 with the mission of raising awareness of the quality and versatility of Italian wines. They saw in Spain a country with great potential, which also has a notable wine tradition and a growing appreciation for Prosecco. Astoria Wines is the culmination of a lifetime of dedication and hard work tending the vines at their own Tenuta Val de Brun Estate in Refrontolo located in northern Italy, in the heart of an area known as Docg Conegliano – Valdobbiadene. Their wine selection includes a wide range of wines, from the famous Prosecco to a selection of red, white, rosé, sparkling, raisined and grappa wines.
Their wines are distributed exclusively throughout the Spanish peninsula thanks to Strato Mille, a wine and food group proudly based in Benalmádena.
